XTRAC Excimer Light Therapy

We offer natural UVb light therapy services with latest equipment including the XTRAC Excimer Laser and the Daavlin NeoLux3 automated Light Booth.

Excimer lasers are an ideal targeted treatment for areas affected by psoriasis, vitiligo, or eczema. Light booths can be used for full-body treatments. Both treatments can be performed simultaneously.

Physician Owner

Dr. Richardson, a board-certified dermatologist, leads the Westgate Skin & Cancer team and oversees all medical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology decision making for the practice. Dr. Richardson has over a decade of experience in dermatology. Her experience is backed by training at an academic institution, years of practice, and years of clinical research. Dr. Richardson takes a pragmatic approach to medicine and remains focused on her patients.

Vanessa Yawn

Physician Assistant

Vanessa, a dermatology focused Physician Assistant, provides medical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology decision making for the practice with oversight from Dr. Blakely Richardson. Vanessa has years of training, experience, and a strong foundation in dermatology due to her time spent practicing at a major academic institution. She takes a friendly and practical approach to medicine and remains focused on her patients.

Christine Bell

Medical Aesthetician

Christine, a Medical Aesthetician, a Certified Laser Technician, and Master Coolsculpting technician, provides medical grade aesthetic services for the practice. She is a certified Coolsculpting and Cooltone specialist and has completed hundreds of treatments with oversight from Dr. Blakely Richardson. Christine takes an artistic and practical approach to aesthetic treatments. She remains attentive on her patients by focusing on their goals and treatment outcomes.

Most patients with plaque psoriasis are candidates for the XTRAC Excimer Light Therapy. If you have mild, moderate or severe psoriasis, you may be a candidate for XTRAC therapy. Schedule a consultation to receive your customized care plan.

The XTRAC Therapy can be used on any plaque psoriasis regardless of location on the body. The XTRAC Therapy is excellent for hard to treat areas such as the scalp, knees or elbows.
Yes. XTRAC treatments have been performed on children as young as just a few years old.
Most patients will begin to notice improvement in their psoriasis within 3 or 4 treatments. Significant improvement is often seen in 6 to 10 treatments, with clearance in 10 to 20 treatments. Individual results will vary.
No. Most patients feel no pain or discomfort during the XTRAC Therapy.
No. The XTRAC treatment is pain free.
Treatments are relatively quick. The exact time depends on how many psoriasis areas are being treated with the XTRAC. Typically, patients can be in and out of the treatment room in ten to fifteen minutes.
Each patient is unique, but psoriasis sufferers who have experienced the XTRAC Therapy have found that relief can last for extended periods of time, typically 4 to 6 months or longer than other psoriasis treatments.

The XTRAC Therapy is covered by all major insurance companies and Medicare. If you are covered by insurance, typically your costs will be your standard co-pay or deductible costs. If you do not have insurance coverage, an XTRAC physician can discuss a cash payment plan.
The XTRAC Therapy is performed two to three times per week in your physician’s office. Your physician will discuss with you the best treatment program that fits your need.

By contacting us at 512-815-2559, we should be able to “fast track” you by getting your first appointment scheduled within 24-48 hours after we verify your insurance coverage.
An XTRAC Physician can define the best treatment protocol for you and whether the XTRAC Therapy should be used with other medications.
The XTRAC Therapy limits exposure of healthy skin to treatment. Also, there is no thinning of the skin as is common with topical medications. There are also none of the dangerous health risks often associated with biologics and systemic medications.
